FC Bayern wants to extend Harry Kane’s contract early. Crucial talks are reportedly set to take place soon. Opinions differ on the issue of his salary.
Kane is an outstanding player and feels at home at FC Bayern. These are excellent conditions for a contract extension and a prompt agreement.
The player himself recently stated that he is completely relaxed about the talks. Bayern wants to extend his contract by two years, while Kane would like to extend it through 2030. That could very well be the biggest sticking point right now.
Expert Discusses the Kane Contract
This topic was also discussed on the BILD program “Reif ist live” with former commentator Marcel Reif, who still follows world soccer. He doesn’t see this as a major hurdle.
Partly because there’s no danger that the Englishman’s performance will decline significantly during his time at FCB. “Kane isn’t a typical soccer player. And he’s not someone with whom the risk would be unmanageable. He’s one of those guys who understands that his body is his tool of the trade and that he has to live accordingly,” Reif explained.

He then went on to offer some advice on how to structure the contract extension. “They’ll reach an agreement—I’m sure of it. The salary will be lowered slightly toward the end—in the third year—so that everyone is happy,” said Reif. That would mean that Kane, as reported by several media outlets, would initially earn the same amount as before, but then receive a small salary adjustment in the final year.
It’s not known whether this is already a topic of discussion between FC Bayern and Kane. However, all signs point to the Englishman signing a new contract with the record champions soon and continuing to chase goals for Bayern.
