FC Bayern had to do without a few players this weekend at the Super Cup in Dortmund. Among them was Jamal Musiala, who trained only on his own following his two collapses on the field.
The Bayern dribbling maestro recently revealed that he suffers from so-called “absences,” which he says are easily treatable. The focus right now is on finding the perfect medication. After a long period without an episode, Musiala tried to reduce his medication, but that didn’t work.
He trained individually leading up to the Super Cup, but both Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl stated that the clear goal is for Musiala to return to action as soon as possible.
Musiala: Here’s the latest on his return
According to a report by *kicker*, it currently looks as though Musiala will resume full team training very soon. The report states that, following an adjustment to his medication, the attacking player should be able to join the team’s preparations for Friday’s match against VfB Stuttgart.

If everything goes according to plan, Musiala could also be in the squad for the season opener. While this will depend on how things develop over the coming days, the offensive player is confident, as are the coach and team officials. There is no health risk, and Musiala himself wants to get back on the field as soon as possible.
Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry, who have recently been sidelined with injuries and have been preparing for a return for some time, are also expected back soon. Karl could rejoin team training as early as this week, while Gnabry is expected to do so next week. It remains unclear whether Karl will be ready to come off the bench against Stuttgart. That will depend on how the training week goes.
