FC Bayern and Konrad Laimer have been in talks for months regarding a contract extension. The Austrian and the record champions have recently been growing closer and closer.
Various media outlets reported that Laimer is expected to sign an extension shortly after the 2026 World Cup. After negotiations stalled, particularly in the early stages, both sides have made concessions.
And a compromise was reached. While Laimer will receive a pay raise, it will be relatively modest. The Austrian will therefore not earn significantly more than before, but he can still boost his base salary with a few bonuses.
Laimer Confirms Contract Extension with FC Bayern
Today, Monday, FC Bayern’s first team began preseason training with fitness tests at Säbener Straße. The players who competed in the World Cup in North America were not yet present, but prominent faces such as Joao Palhinha, Tom Bischof, and Serge Gnabry were in attendance.
And Konrad Laimer was also in Munich today! Some media outlets, which were already on site covering the training session, spotted the Austrian as he left the record champion’s offices at noon. When asked by these media outlets, the player explained that he had just extended his contract with FC Bayern.

Resolving the Laimer situation was extremely important for FC Bayern. Getting this issue out of the way before he begins preseason training is a definite positive for both the player and the record champions.
