Laimer’s contract extension is a done deal
Now, Sky has followed up with more details in its Transfer Update. It also reported that all differences have been resolved. According to the report, Laimer will receive a small, moderate pay raise and will extend his contract very soon.
An agreement is in place; it’s likely now just a matter of paperwork and the finalization of the deal. There’s no question that this could take a little longer due to the World Cup. Nevertheless, from the FCB’s perspective, there’s no longer any cause for concern.
Especially at the start of the negotiations, there were differences regarding the financial terms of the contract extension. The exact amount of the pay raise is not yet known. The Austrian, who is versatile on the field, is currently set to earn nine million euros per year.
During the negotiations, however, despite the initial problems, there were many reasons for him to stay with FC Bayern, as Laimer feels very much at home in Munich, is close to his homeland, and has also enjoyed many sporting successes. Now all that’s left is for the deal to be announced.
