Marcus Rashford has recently been linked with FC Bayern. Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the current situation surrounding the England international.
Rumors surrounding Marcus Rashford and FC Bayern have caused a stir in recent days. After several media outlets reported on Munich’s potential interest in the Manchester United forward, there is now new information on the current state of affairs.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Bayern officials have indeed been looking into the Englishman’s situation recently. According to him, there have been inquiries from Munich over the past two to three weeks to generally gauge Rashford’s future prospects.
However, according to Romano, these were merely initial inquiries. Bayern reportedly wanted to find out whether Rashford could be a potential option for the club in principle.
However, there are currently no concrete transfer talks to speak of.
Bayern’s focus is currently elsewhere
As Romano reports, there are currently neither negotiations nor an official offer from FC Bayern. Instead, the club’s officials are currently focusing on other players.
The reason appears to lie primarily in the player’s athletic profile and the financial framework. According to the transfer expert, Bayern is currently looking for a different type of player. As an example, Romano cites Ismael Saibari, whose profile differs significantly from that of the English international.
Added to this is the salary issue. Rashford is one of the top earners at Manchester United and would also be among the highest-paid players in Munich. Saibari, on the other hand, is considered a significantly more cost-effective solution.

Nevertheless, the topic is not completely off the table. According to Romano, there are certainly officials within the club who hold Rashford in high regard and recognize his qualities. The 28-year-old has extensive international experience and can be deployed flexibly in several attacking positions.
Currently, however, there is little to suggest that Bayern will make a concrete move. The Munich club’s focus remains on other transfer targets. In particular, the signings of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari are currently top priorities.
As a result, Rashford remains more of a player under observation than a concrete transfer target for the time being. Although Bayern have assessed his situation, no concrete steps toward a transfer are planned at this time.
