Nathaniel Brown is at the top of FC Bayern’s wish list. For these reasons, the national team player is aiming for a move to Munich.
FC Bayern continues to work intensively on signing Nathaniel Brown. Talks with Eintracht Frankfurt have been ongoing for weeks. Recently,the two clubs have moved closer to an agreement on the transfer fee. There have also been positive signals from the player’s side for some time.
As reported by Sport BILD, Bayern officials barely had to convince Brown of a move. Although numerous top European clubs are said to have shown interest in the 22-year-old, his personal favorite was clear from the start.
According to the report, Manchester City, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Arsenal were among the clubs interested in the German international. Nevertheless, Munich was Brown’s preferred destination from the start. In addition to the sporting prospects, the opportunity to continue playing at the highest level in the Bundesliga also played a role.
Another key factor is Vincent Kompany. The Bayern coach is known for focusing on young, promising players and is said to have strongly advocated internally for signing the Frankfurt player. Kompany apparently wanted to sign Brown back when he was at Burnley FC. Now, that partnership might finally come to fruition.
National team as an additional factor for Brown
For Brown, however, a potential move is not just about the next step in his club career. According to Sport BILD, the left-back also sees a transfer to FC Bayern as a chance to establish himself permanently in the German national team.
Most recently, Brown received special praise from national team coach Julian Nagelsmann. After the 2-1 friendly win against the U.S., the 38-year-old said: “Sometimes I think he doesn’t even realize how good he actually is. That makes him likable. He’s very humble and eager to learn. He’s a good, refined soccer player with speed.”
Brown has also already established close ties with several Bayern Munich players. According to the report, he spent a lot of time with Aleksandar Pavlovic and Lennart Karl during the national team’s stay in Chicago. He also raves about two other key players from Munich. Speaking about Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich, Brown said: “It’s something very special to play with legends like Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich.”
There is also a personal aspect to consider. Brown’s hometown of Amberg is only about a two-hour drive from Munich. Even if this factor isn’t decisive, according to the report, it makes the idea of a move to Bayern even more appealing.
The signs thus continue to point toward a transfer. Bayern view Brown as their preferred option for the left side of defense, while the player himself appears very open to a move to Munich. Should the clubs reach an agreement in the coming days, the deal could be finalized shortly.
