FC Bayern will be aiming for their first DFB Cup win since 2020 on Saturday evening – and the double at the same time. The Munich club will face VfB Stuttgart in the final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin
Vincent Kompany will in all likelihood field his top eleven. No major surprises are currently expected in the starting line-up. The Belgian is likely to rely on maximum quality, particularly in attack
Due to Manuel Neuer’s muscular problems, his deputy Jonas Urbig will be in goal. The 22-year-old is therefore likely to play his biggest game in a Bayern shirt to date. Neuer is still missing due to problems in his calf and has not been able to train with the team recently
Kompany will probably rely on his regulars
In defence, there are many indications that the back four will consist of Josip Stanisic, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Konrad Laimer, while Alphonso Davies is still out with a torn muscle fibre in his thigh
Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic are likely to start in central midfield, while Leon Goretzka will probably only be an option for the bench for the time being
In attack, Kompany is likely to start Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Luis Diaz behind Harry Kane. Although Musiala is still lacking a bit of rhythm after his injury, the international should start from the beginning
Goretzka, Raphael Guerreiro, Nicolas Jackson and Bayern youngster Lennart Karl, among others, could provide fresh impetus from the bench
VfB Stuttgart, meanwhile, travel to Berlin with plenty of confidence. Sebastian Hoeneß‘ side qualified for the Champions League once again and will be looking to defend their title after winning the cup last year
