Brobbey himself has now commented on the speculation – and reacted rather cautiously. Speaking to Viaplay, he said: „It’s always nice when such a big club shows interest, but I haven’t heard anything about it myself. So I don’t know.“
When asked about a possible move back to the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old also refused to commit himself: „I don’t know. I’m not thinking about it at the moment,“ explained the attacker, who has also been under contract with RB Leipzig
Brobbey is thus putting a damper on the current rumors, at least for the time being. According to him, there do not appear to be any concrete talks or advanced negotiations
In sporting terms, the Dutchman can look back on a mixed season. In 29 appearances for Sunderland, he scored seven goals and provided one assist – solid figures that do not necessarily suggest an immediate move to a top European club
