Bayern have fewer and fewer options to fill the coaching position for the coming season. More and more candidates who were supposed to be options to succeed Thomas Tuchel have to be crossed off the list. Now Feyenoord coach Arne Slotappears to be an alternative for the coaching post in the Bavarian capital.

The 45-year-old is highly favoured by several top clubs. According to sports journalist Ben Jacobs, FC Barcelona and AC Milan are also said to be interested in the Dutch-born coach. According to Jacobs, FC Bayern are the most interested in Slot and are considered the most aggressive bidders for his services. The 45-year-old therefore appears to be a serious option to succeed Bayern coach Tuchel.

However, signing the Dutchman would be an expensive affair for Munich. Slot still has a contract in Rotterdam until 2026, meaning Bayern would have to transfer a transfer fee to the Dutch club. The pact for Slot and his coaching team could cost the German record champions over €10 million. Although this is less than the sum Feyenoord recently demanded from Tottenham Hotspur for the coach’s services (€20 million), it is still an expensive package for a coach.

Slot shines with his attacking style of play

Slot has been at the Dutch top club since the 2021/22 season and has enjoyed some success since then. He reached the final of the Conference League in his very first season, and a year later they won the Dutch championship together. The club also won the Dutch Cup last week.

In addition to Munich, Liverpool FC have also shown great interest in Slot. The Reds are particularly interested in the coach’s attacking style of play. However, as with Munich, no decision has yet been made on who will occupy the coaching bench next season after Jürgen Klub leaves the club in the summer.
