Next setback for Pavlovic: Bayern youngster missing from the DFB team

Aleksandar Pavlovic is not having an easy time at the moment: first the youngster injured his eye during FC Bayern’s game in Darmstadt. And now he has been delayed for his first appearance for the German senior national team.



Aleksandar Pavlovic was nominated by FC Bayern for the German senior national team for the first time. The 19-year-old was due to make his debut for the DFB team in the matches in France (23 March) and against the Netherlands (26 March).

However, Pavlovic will only be able to join the national team after a delay. This was announced by the DFB. The midfielder contracted a flu-like infection. According to information from Sky, Pavlovic has a mild flu and further examinations are therefore planned for tomorrow in Munich. Pavlovic wants to join the team as soon as possible. However, it is still uncertain if and when this will work out.

Today, Monday, the German national team players met in Frankfurt. Travelling from FC Bayern were: Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller travelled to Frankfurt.

Pavlovic injures his eye in Darmstadt

The infection is the next setback for Pavlovic after he suffered an eye injury following a collision in FC Bayern’s 5-2 win at Darmstadt 98 and had to be substituted as a result. He had an unfortunate collision with Darmstadt’s Vilhelmsson in an aerial duel. After being hit on the head, the midfield jewel remained lying down and had to be substituted shortly afterwards, dazed.

The all-clear was given later. Pavlovic returned to the Bayern bench and, apart from a swollen eye and a plaster over his left eyelid, he appeared to be fit again. Pavlovic himself gave the all-clear in his Instagram story after the clash: „Luckily nothing bad happened! Thank you for all the kind messages,“ he wrote.
