International Jamal Musiala is still in high demand on the transfer market. The FC Bayern attacker continues to show his exceptional qualities, which is attracting the interest of other top clubs. One club that keeps popping up in the media in this regard is Liverpool FC.

According toa report by Football Insider, Liverpool are „very interested“ in luring Musiala to Anfield Road in the summer of 2024. Musiala’s contract expires in the summer of 2026. Bayern, however, see the 21-year-old as a cornerstone of the future team. They are keen to extend the youngster’s contract and make him the face of FC Bayern. A transfer fee of just under 120 million euros has been mentioned should Bayern decide to let Musiala leave.

The return of Michael Edwards as sporting director at Liverpool could further fuel this transfer desire. According to reports, Edwards has made Musiala one of his priorities for the summer. This suggests that Liverpool could be prepared to dig deep into their pockets to sign the young German.

Talks over Musiala’s future at the end of the season

However, rumours surrounding a possible move for Musiala should be treated with caution. In his podcast „Bayern Insider“, BILD head of football Christian Falk recently described speculation that Musiala had rejected an offer from FC Bayern as unfounded. It appears that talks over the player’s future will only be held at the end of the season, with Bayern still having the best chance of keeping Musiala. However, the German international seems to have some conditions for a possible extension.

One interesting aspect to consider in this context is the possibility of Chelsea FC selling him on. When Musiala transferred to FC Bayern’s youth team in 2019, Chelsea are said to have secured a 20 per cent stake in the resale. This could further complicate a transfer and drive up the costs for Liverpool.
