Bryan Zaragoza has played no part at all at FC Bayern so far. The winter signing has only made one brief appearance for the Munich side since his transfer. Thomas Tuchel has now revealed why he is not relying on the 22-year-old.

Bayern have strengthened their attacking wing positions with Bryan Zaragoza this winter. The transfer of the Spaniard, which should originally have taken place in the summer, was brought forward due to the many injury-related absences. Zaragoza has only made one Bundesliga appearance out of a possible seven. The winger was substituted for 20 minutes in the 2:3 defeat in Bochum.

According to Thomas Tuchel, Zaragoza’s personal situation will not change too much in the foreseeable future: „We brought the transfer forward to give us more time and played it safe. First and foremost, Bryan lacks the language, which is an elementary factor. It’s difficult in English and difficult in German,“ explained the 50-year-old on Friday.

„We see his quality“

However, Zaragoza has not been completely written off: „I realised that it was a big step for him. We can see his quality, but we also realise that his integration is not yet complete. That’s why we’re giving him more time. Everything is on target,“ emphasised the FCB coach.

The competition in Munich’s offence will intensify further in the coming weeks. Serge Gnabry already celebrated his comeback in the Champions League against Lazio Rome during the week. According to Tuchel, Kingsley Coman will also be ready for action again after the international break at the end of March.

In view of the language problems, Zaragoza will probably no longer play a major role at FCB this season. However, it will be exciting to see how the new coach plans with the 22-year-old.
