FC Bayern have reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The Munich side beat Lazio Roma 3-0 in the second leg of the round of 16 at home in the Allianz Arena. Thomas Müller was visibly relieved and satisfied after the game.

While Bayern have already been eliminated from the DFB Cup and are ten points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, Munich are still dreaming of winning the Champions League title. By reaching the last eight, FCB have taken the first step in this direction.

Thanks to goals from Harry Kane (39 and 66) and Thomas Müller (45, 2), the German record champions secured a 3-0 home win against Lazio Rome on Tuesday evening, making up for the 1-0 defeat in the first leg.

„The team absolutely deserved it today“

Thomas Müller was visibly relieved after the game: „Of course we’re very happy. We just want to savour this feeling. No matter what was in the papers today or yesterday. The team absolutely deserved it today,“ he emphasised in an interview with Prime Video.

The 34-year-old also made it clear that despite the difficult last few weeks, not everything at FC Bayern is in ruins: „It’s not a complete shambles here. We have problems on the football pitch. But everything is fine today.“
