While FC Bayern was not able to compete at the top of the European table last year, things are looking much better in terms of jersey sales. It has now been revealed that the jerseys of the German record champions will be among the bestsellers in 2023.

As part of its annual report on the financial situation of European club football, UEFA recently published a comprehensive report for 2023. Among other things, this also includes an overview of the top earners in terms of shirt sales.

UEFA has published the annual shirt sales for the past year. This is based on the revenue generated by the direct partnership between the club and kit supplier, as well as the total kit sales for the calendar year. This provides a good indication of how popular the respective jerseys are.

Bayern is in the top 3, BVB and Frankfurt are in the top 20

FC Barcelona remains one of the most popular clubs in the world in terms of kit sales. Barça earned €179 million from the sale of its jerseys last year, making it the frontrunner.

Long-standing rivals Real Madrid follow in second place. The royal team earned 155 million euros. Third place goes to the German record champions FC Bayern, who achieved annual jersey sales of 147 million euros. FCB has thus gained almost 20 million euros. in 2022, the figure was still 128 million.

The signing of Harry Kane last summer in particular has caused jersey sales in Munich to explode in recent months. The jersey with the number 9 is one of the absolute bestsellers at FC Bayern, even after seven of his transfers.

The interesting thing is: FC Bayern is joined in the top 20 by two other Bundesliga clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt. BVB’s €54 million puts them in 12th place, while SGE is in 19th place with €26 million.
