The Bavarian record champions will face Viktoria Köln in DFB Pokal’s first round on Wednesday evening. The club and head coach Julian Nagelsmann have provided the necessary team updates ahead of the week.

The German head coach has confirmed that „Everyone is fit. Leon Goretzka and Choupo Moting are also back and I want to give them playing time, obviously not from the start“. This should be great news for Bayern’s midfield as Goretzka has now fully recovered from his knee injury.

Speaking to the club’s website, Goretzka confirms that he is fully fit again and ready to play: „It was an intensive rehab, I worked a lot. But I feel really fit now, I took the opportunity from day one. […] Now I feel free and the season can start for me.“

Jamal Musiala is confirmed to be not at his 100% yet, according to the coach, and therefore will not start from the first minute. Of course, there is a high chance that he will come off the bench.

In the meantime, there will be rotation against Viktoria, as expected. Nagelsmann has revealed that there will be up to five changes in the starting XI, among them, will also be the new signing Mathys Tel who is tipped off to start from the beginning: „Mathys [Tel] and [Josip] Stanišić will normally start tomorrow, as will Ryan [Gravenberch] and Nous [Mazraoui]. Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich will most likely start as well.“

EXPECTED LINE-UP according to BILD:

Neuer

Mazraoui, de Ligt, Hernández, Stanišić

Kimmich, Gravenberch

Coman, Sané

Müller, Tel
