Bayern Munich signed two great players in Sadio Mane and Matthijs de Ligt this summer, whether there’ll be more transfers of this caliber in 2022 is an open question.

In an interview with Munich’s local newspaper „Tageszeitung“, the 52-year-old chairman hinted that there will be no further transfers of de Ligt’s magnitude: „There is no need to be active again when it comes to negotiating with players like Matthijs de Ligt.“ said Kahn.

„Because our transfers are based on philosophy: We bring in experienced international top stars like Sadio Mané and Matthijs de Ligt. But the most important thing is to have players under contract who form our system.

Kahn also emphasized that not only the newcomers are important, the contract extensions of Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry also play a major role in Munich.

On the other hand, the club is still working to sign the likes of Mathys Tel and Konrad Laimer. According to Kahn, negotiations between the clubs are ongoing: „There was another conversation with Tel recently. We are also in contact with Laimer. You just have to see how things develop now.”

So far, RB Leipzig have rejected all the two offers for Laimer from Bayern and the club has no intention to raise their offer. Meanwhile, Stade Rennes are yet to respond to Bayern’s third offer for Tel, the first two which were also rejected.

With a view to the transfer balance so far, according to Kahn, Bayern will not rush anything: „We did most of our homework early on and no longer need to do any hectic action at the end of the transfer window“
