Bayern Munich have found their desired candidate to replace Robert Lewandowski in the summer in Sasa Kalajdzic. The club has been already conducting talks with his management.

While many Bayern stars have been on summer vacation since the beginning of the week, the board has been working for months to strengthen the squad in the new season. In particular, sports director and chief squad planner Hasan Salihamidzic seems to be very busy at the moment. The 45-year-old is in contact with several player agents and is exploring the transfer market in search of potential reinforcements.

In addition to the numerous rumors, the club is intensively negotiating with Sasa Kalajdzic from VfB Stuttgart. His agent was spotted at Säbener Strasse on Wednesday. The talks with Salihamidzic and Bayern’s technical director Marco Neppe were „very positive“ and Bayern are seriously interested in the Austrian. In addition, Julian Nagelsmann also seems to be heavily involved in talks.

German tabloid „tageszeitung“ reports, that the Bayern coach took part in the conversation with Kalajdzic agent Sascha Empacher. The 34-year-old is making intensive efforts to sign the striker. Nagelsmann appreciates the striker’s football skills as well as his ability to work in a team.

It’s not the first time Nagelsmann has been actively involved in Bayern’s transfer matters. He was also key to convincing Noussair Mazraoui to switch from Barcelona and to Bayern Munich via a phone call, while the Moroccan had already decided for the Catalans.

Kalajdzic’s contract expires in 2023, the Swabians would be willing to let go of their striker for a sum of 20 to 25 million euros.
