The Bavarians are planning further to increase the squad quality for the upcoming season and the medias have revealed Bayern’s interesting plans for the midfield.

A squad’s most important aspect is the midfield. At Bayern, the club is longing for quality midfielders who can offer a similar role to Thiago. The current midfielders, Marc Roca, Corentin Tolisso and Marcel Sabitzer are not trusted enough.

Roca is linked with a departure in summer and has barely earned Nagelsmann’s trust, Tolisso is plagued by injuries and will also leave in the summer for free, while Sabitzer has disappointed in the performances.

According to kicker, the board are not satisfied with Sabitzer’s development, for the fact alone that they spent 15m€ for the midfielder last summer.

Hence why the Austrian has now become a possible sale candidate. The club would consider selling Sabitzer if they don’t make a loss in his investment, as his contract runs until 2025. In plain language, Sabitzer should not be sold for less than what Bayern paid, 15m€.

Konrad Laimer, the new midfield option?

Even if Ryan Gravenberch would soon become the club’s newest midfield addition, there will still have to be more newcomers given the fact that Tolisso, possibly Roca and Sabitzer could leave. That’s why, according to ‚kicker‘, Julian Nagelsmann is apparently eyeing Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig.

Due to the great, great need for a typical number six, Laimer is seen by Nagelsmann as the right player. The Austrian’s contract runs until 2023 and so far, there have been no signs of extension. Nagelsmann once described Laimer as a „monster ball-winning machine“ in his time at Leipzig. The coach appreciates his qualities and apparently would like to have him at the club.

Konrad Laimer was already an option at the club last year and was linked with a move to Bayern in the summer. The player meanwhile denied any rumor linking him to Bayern and wanted to focus solely on RB Leipzig
