New talks with Pini Zahavi are on the horizon at FC Bayern. The star agent is now representing a Bayern youngster—whose future is still up in the air.
Pini Zahavi and FC Bayern are apparently set to meet again at the negotiating table soon. The prominent player agent is now representing Bayern prospect Maycon Cardozo, as reported by Sky.
This adds an extra layer of urgency to the young player’s future. Cardozo does not yet have a professional contract with FC Bayern. A meeting with Munich officials is therefore scheduled to take place shortly to discuss his future prospects with the record champions.
On the field, however, the young talent’s focus is initially on his comeback. After a shoulder injury, Cardozo is working to make a full return and build on his strong preseason performance. That’s where he caught the eye and proved himself worthy of further opportunities.
There have already been interested parties. According to information from Sky, several loan inquiries for Cardozo were received last summer. However, a transfer did not materialize at that time.
Zahavi and Bayern have a turbulent history
The fact that Zahavi, of all people, is now representing the interests of the Bayern talent automatically draws additional attention. The relationship between the star agent and Bayern’s management has not always been free of tension in the past.
Particularly legendary is a statement by Uli Hoeneß from the time when Zahavi represented David Alaba and Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern honorary president described the Israeli at the time as a “money-hungry piranha.”
Despite this history, both sides have long since resumed negotiations. For example, Zahavi was involved in discussions regarding the future of Leroy Sané. The attacking player ultimately left FC Bayern and transferred to Galatasaray Istanbul.
Zahavi’s agency also played a role in the case of Jonathan Tah. The center back is also represented by Gol International and later transferred to FC Bayern. The past tensions have thus not prevented Bayern and Zahavi from continuing to do business with one another.
Now, with Cardozo, the next personnel matter is apparently on the horizon. For the young player, this is a crucial turning point: He wants to prove himself on the field again after his injury, while at the same time his contractual future must be clarified.
With Zahavi at the table for the upcoming talks, Bayern will be dealing with an agent with whom they have gained plenty of experience in recent years.
