Lennart Karl is one of FC Bayern’s most promising young players. But of all teams, Real Madrid could still play a role in the youngster’s future career plans.
Lennart Karl has risen through the ranks at FC Bayern at an impressive pace. The 18-year-old has long been a fixture on the professional roster and has made a name for himself internationally with his performances.
However, this has also sparked interest from other top clubs. According to Sport BILD, several leading international clubs have had their eyes on Karl for some time. One club in particular is likely to come into focus time and again: Real Madrid.
The connection between Karl and Los Blancos goes way back. At the age of ten, the Bayern youngster already took part in a trial at Real Madrid and was even allowed to play at the Bernabéu.
Even more interesting is that Karl himself has never made a secret of how important Real is to him. Earlier this year, during a visit to a fan club near his hometown of Frammersbach, he said: “At some point, I definitely want to play for Real Madrid. That’s my dream club.”
Karl’s prospects at Bayern will be decisive
A concrete transfer isn’t on the horizon right now. Nevertheless, Real Madrid could become a topic of discussion again in the future if Karl’s situation at FC Bayern changes.
The Munich club faces an important decision regarding its long-term plans for the youngster. On the right wing, Michael Olise is currently the clear starter under Vincent Kompany. At the same time, Bayern plans to secure the Frenchman’s long-term commitment.
That could be the decisive factor for Karl. If Olise continues to occupy the right flank for years to come, the 18-year-old would have to consider how realistic his path to becoming a regular starter at Bayern actually is.
According to information from Sport BILD, a scenario is therefore conceivable in which Karl might eventually seek his opportunity outside of Munich. Real Madrid would be a particularly obvious choice given his personal connection to the club.

window.addEventListener(‚message‘,function(e){
if(e.source!==iframe.contentWindow)return;
var d=e.data||{};
if(d.type===’FOOTY_WIDGET_HEIGHT’&&typeof d.height===’number‘){iframe.style.height=d.height+’px‘;}
});
})();
At the same time, a move to Real Madrid would be anything but a guarantee of more playing time. Even in Madrid, Karl would have to hold his own against fierce competition.
For FC Bayern, however, there is currently no immediate cause for concern. Karl’s contract runs through 2029. No discussions have yet taken place with him or his agent, Michael Ballack, regarding a further extension.
The athletic outlook is likely to play a central role in these discussions. Bayern must show Karl what their long-term plans are for him and whether he will actually get the chance to become a fixture on the right wing.
That could very well determine whether Real Madrid remains merely Karl’s dream club in the future—or eventually becomes a realistic option once again.
