Thomas Tuchel is running out of superlatives to describe Harry Kane. The England coach particularly highlights the Bayern star’s consistency and mentality.
Harry Kane continues to impress Thomas Tuchel across the board. The England national team coach knows the striker from their time together at FC Bayern and believes he is currently performing at an extraordinary level.
“I’m not sure if I even have any words left, because it feels like he’s scoring all the time and just playing fantastically,” Tuchel said ahead of the Nations League match against the Czech Republic.
The 53-year-old also mentioned Kane’s chances for the Ballon d’Or: “He’s on the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or. We’ve talked about him so many times already, and then I try to find new words, but they don’t really make sense anymore,” Tuchel explained.
Tuchel highlights Kane’s professional mindset
The former Bayern coach is particularly impressed by Kane’s consistency. “Everything he does, he does at the highest level—and he does it consistently,” Tuchel gushed.
And it’s not just about goals. Kane also serves as a clear role model in training: “I’m very sure that today, during the open training session, he’ll be the one leading the team out onto the field,” said Tuchel.

The Bayern star is right at the front during warm-ups and doesn’t let up even by a centimeter during light sessions. “He doesn’t take a single step less or slow down even a bit,” emphasized the England coach.
Tuchel had previously praised Kane publicly as an exceptional team player. His current assessment is along the same lines: The 33-year-old impresses not only with his stats but also with his professionalism.
For Kane, this latest high praise also provides a boost in the race for the Ballon d’Or.
