Harry Kane rarely collects jerseys from opponents. However, the Bayern star has made an exception for two big names during his career.
Harry Kane has already played in countless big games throughout his career, experienced special stadiums, and faced some of the best soccer players of his generation. When it comes to collecting memorabilia, however, the FC Bayern striker is surprisingly reserved.
In the club magazine 51, Kane was asked whether he keeps any special mementos from the many countries, cities, and stadiums where he has played. His answer shows that opponents’ jerseys play only a minor role for him.
“Not systematically, but I remember the teams and places well. I mainly keep jerseys from games in which I reached a milestone. I’ve rarely swapped jerseys in my career: once with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and once with Wayne Rooney at Manchester United. But the experiences are more important to me than the jerseys,” Kane said.
Ronaldo and Rooney as rare exceptions
The fact that Kane made an exception for Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, of all people, reflects the special significance those two names hold for the England national team captain.

What’s particularly noteworthy is just how rarely Kane ever exchanges jerseys at all. While exchanging jerseys after games has long been a matter of course for many professionals, the Bayern striker seems to place significantly more value on personal memories than on building the largest possible collection.
The 33-year-old also appears to have a clear approach when it comes to his own jerseys. According to Kane, he especially keeps jerseys from matches in which he achieved a personal milestone.
