Klara Bühl is keeping her future at FC Bayern open. For the Munich club, FC Barcelona’s renewed interest comes at a delicate time.
FC Bayern faces the prospect of losing a key player on a free transfer next summer. Klara Bühl is under contract only until 2027—and FC Barcelona is reportedly showing renewed interest in the 25-year-old.
According to information from BILD, the reigning Champions League champion has approached Bühl. There is also said to be interest from England. Barça had already been linked to the German national team player back in 2025.
Bühl herself is keeping all her options open. After the 3-0 Champions League victory over Benfica Lisbon, she told ZDF: “Everything is still up in the air. I can imagine anything. I feel very, very comfortable in Munich. I know what I have in Munich. I haven’t set myself a deadline.”
As recently as May, Bühl had turned down lucrative offers from England and made a conscious decision to stay in Munich.
Bayern wants clarity by Christmas
Still, the situation isn’t entirely without time pressure. According to BILD, Bayern director Bianca Rech wants to know by the end of December at the latest which players will remain on the roster for the upcoming season.
Bühl demonstrated just how valuable she is to Bayern in their recent match against Benfica. After a long, grueling game, she scored the crucial 1-0 goal in the 75th minute, setting the stage for the 3-0 victory.
Since her transfer from SC Freiburg in 2020, Bühl has played in 195 competitive matches and scored 55 goals for FC Bayern. Soccerdonna currently estimates her market value at 1.65 million euros.
A departure on a free transfer would be correspondingly difficult to compensate for from a sporting perspective. Bayern is therefore hoping for another contract extension—Barça and other top clubs are likely to be watching the situation closely.
