Jamal Musiala started the match against Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt earlier this week. He had a few early struggles but gradually found his rhythm as the game went on.
And he was rewarded for it! Musiala scored the 1-0 goal for the record champions, breaking the deadlock in the match.
The attacking player lasted an hour in the match before being substituted. After his collapses during preseason, it was good news that he was able to get back on the field and show what he’s capable of.

Against Elversberg, however, Musiala found himself back on the bench. Some experts had likely expected the attacking player to start the game in order to regain his rhythm. But that wasn’t the case. Just before the game, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany also explained to DAZN why he made this decision.
“His preseason was completely disrupted. We’re glad that he’s now able to build up his rhythm again. He played 60 minutes during the week. Today, he can also play an important role for us, and he’s becoming more important again,” said the Belgian coach.
So the adjustment to his medication is having an effect. FC Bayern has repeatedly emphasized that, in consultation with the doctors, they are now trying to gradually increase Musiala’s workload in order to help him reach his peak form.
At the same time, they don’t want to put too much pressure on the player. “But as I said, his preseason preparation was interrupted very often, and that’s why we don’t want to, how do you say, ‘overpace’ him,” Kompany explained. The priority is rather for Musiala to be able to play regularly. And that’s likely exactly the right approach.
