Everything points to Harry Kane extending his contract with FC Bayern. The Englishman is happy in Munich, and both he and his family feel right at home there. Yet there are still experts who would prefer to see him back in the Premier League.
Immediately after his move to FC Bayern, it also seemed clear that Kane would eventually be drawn back to England. But according to his own statements, this issue no longer plays a major role in the Englishman’s mind.
In Munich, he currently has everything he needs: more peace and quiet than in England, a fantastic environment, the chance to win titles, and a team that is constantly improving.
England legend wants to see Kane back in the Premier League
Emile Heskey, the former star striker who played for Liverpool FC, among others, would love to see Kane play in England again. “Honestly, if he returns to the Premier League, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t score 20 goals or more per season,” Heskey said.
The reasoning behind this call is that Kane could still break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record. The current Bayern star is still 47 goals short of that mark. Heskey clearly hopes that Kane will set his sights on that record once again.
In his view, a transfer wouldn’t even necessarily have to happen next summer: “You still see players at this level at 35. How old is Danny Welbeck? Luka Modric is playing until he’s 41. Why not?”
Furthermore, as an experienced player, Kane would be valuable to any team, even if he were to eventually no longer be the undisputed starter. The key point, however, is that it’s not Heskey but Kane himself who will decide. And he’s clearly leaning toward a new contract with FC Bayern—one that, ideally, would keep him with the record champions until 2030.
