Sacha Boey is one of the players who may still leave Bayern this summer. The right back was on loan to Galatasaray during the second half of the season, but the Turkish club—where Boey had previously played—did not sign him permanently.
Boey still enjoys a very good reputation at Galatasaray and was considered something of a fan favorite during his time there. So it’s no wonder that the Turkish champions are repeatedly mentioned whenever the topic of where Boey might theoretically end up comes up.
Most recently, the fullback even saw more playing time during preseason, partly due to Konrad Laimer’s injury. Boey didn’t play badly at all and made a good impression. However, FC Bayern left him off the roster for the Super Cup, thereby sending a clear message.

Now there’s hope in the Boey case. According to Fanatik, a Turkish media outlet, the door to Galatasaray might open once again. But this depends on certain conditions that haven’t been met yet.
Specifically, Galatasaray would only seriously consider him if Wilfried Singo or Roland Sallai were to leave the club. As long as that doesn’t happen, there’s no room for Boey on Galatasaray’s roster.
That’s why FC Bayern is currently forced to wait and see if anything comes of it. One small advantage: The transfer window in Turkey closes later than the one in Germany. So Galatasaray could still sign Boey by September 4. There are no other concrete offers for the player at the moment.
The right-back was never able to live up to the high expectations placed on him in Munich. While flashes of his quality were evident at times, they weren’t consistent. Injuries also caused problems for Boey from time to time.
