This summer, FC Bayern signed Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven for approximately 50 million euros. The Moroccan played his first competitive match for the record champions on Saturday, but then traveled to his old home.
And for good reason. Saibari was officially honored in Eindhoven today, Sunday. Since the FC Bayern players have the day off today anyway, the trip to Eindhoven is no problem at all.
Starting tomorrow, Monday, the player will join the rest of the squad in preparing for the Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart on Friday.
Saibari given a send-off at PSV
During the farewell ceremony at the stadium, it was clear once again just how valuable Saibari was to PSV. The fans applauded and celebrated him; you could really sense that everyone was happy for him as he takes the next step to a bigger club.

Incidentally, it’s no surprise that Saibari received such a warm send-off. On the one hand, he handled his transfer with absolute professionalism and didn’t push for a move; on the other hand, he was one of the most important players in recent years and often made the difference.
The Moroccan played 142 competitive matches for PSV, scoring 42 goals and setting up 29 more.
PSV officials also bid Saibari farewell with warm words, and in the stands, fans displayed a banner showing Saibari in the Dutch team’s jersey. Below it, a banner once again thanked him for his time and dedication to the club.
For Saibari himself, it was the perfect farewell. Now he can focus entirely on the next chapter of his career at Bayern.
