At FC Bayern, Friday was actually supposed to be a recovery day. After several intense days at the training camp on Lake Tegernsee, Vincent Kompany gave his team a day off. For some Bayern pros, however, that didn’t mean taking it easy at all. Instead, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl, and Alphonso Davies took the opportunity to put in an extra session at Säbener Straße.
While the majority of the squad used the day off to rest, the German record champions’ training grounds were still bustling with activity. Just one day before departing for the Audi Summer Tour to South Korea and Hong Kong, several key players completed individual training sessions.
Quartet working on their comeback
Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl, and Alphonso Davies were each on the field Friday with their own individual rehabilitation programs. Following injuries, the quartet continues to work step by step toward regaining full fitness.
The four offensive and defensive players will deliberately not be joining FC Bayern’s trip to Asia. Instead, they will remain in Munich, where they are expected to continue working on their return under optimal conditions.

The club’s management is particularly focused on a cautious recovery process for Musiala. After his long struggle with injury and the removal of the metal plate from his left foot, the national team player is expected to fully regain his former strength.
Focus on the start of the season
Gnabry, Karl, and Davies are also pursuing the same goal: to be ready for action in time for the start of competitive play. The additional training sessions on their day off demonstrate the ambition with which the quartet is working toward their comeback.
While the team departs on Saturday for the Audi Summer Tour to South Korea and Hong Kong, where they will play several friendly matches, the four Bayern pros will continue their individual rehabilitation at Säbener Straße.
The Munich club’s plan is clear: Without time pressure, Musiala, Gnabry, Karl, and Davies are to build up their fitness so that, once the team returns from Asia, they can be fully reintegrated into team training and serve as genuine alternatives to Vincent Kompany at the start of the season.
