At FC Bayern, Serge Gnabry is taking it one step at a time toward his comeback. While the forward continues to make progress in rehab training, talented midfielder Noel Aseko was also spotted again at Säbener Straße.
About three months after tearing the adductor muscle in his right thigh, Serge Gnabry is working intensively on his return. The 30-year-old, who missed the World Cup due to injury, completed another training session on Thursday at FC Bayern’s training facility.
As reported by BILD, the forward’s schedule included a roughly 45-minute session with rehab coach Simon Martinello. In addition to coordination exercises with and without the ball, Gnabry also did light sprints—another important step on the road back to team training.
Aiming for a comeback at the start of the season
Particularly positive: For the first time since the start of his rehab, Gnabry trained again in soccer cleats instead of running shoes. According to BILD, the national team player appeared significantly fitter overall and completed the exercises without any noticeable problems.
However, the club officials at Säbener Straße do not want to rush Gnabry’s return. According to the report, the forward is to be gradually reintegrated into the team during summer training. The Bayern star is expected to be ready to play by the start of the new season’s competitive matches at the latest.
Meanwhile, Noel Aseko was also working on his fitness at the training facility. Together with talented center back Cassiano Kiala, the 20-year-old U21 national team player completed light running drills and his first exercises with the ball.

However, it remains to be seen whether Aseko will continue training in Munich for much longer. Eintracht Frankfurt continues to work intensively on signing the midfielder.
According to consistent media reports, negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage. FC Bayern is reportedly demanding a fixed transfer fee of twelve million euros, while the Frankfurt-based club is increasingly closing in on that figure. A share of any future transfer proceeds is also still being discussed. A move by the Bayern prospect to Frankfurt is still considered likely.
