FC Bayern continues to reshape its roster. While several young talents could be leaving the club, the Munich-based team has now rejected an initial offer for Jonathan Asp Jensen.
Jonathan Asp Jensen is among the players who could leave FC Bayern permanently this summer. Following his loan spell at Grasshopper Zurich, the attacking midfielder has caught the attention of several European clubs on the transfer market.
Most recently, Lazio Rome was considered the favorite to sign the Dane. But now there are new developments in the transfer saga.
As transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports, FC Bayern has rejected an offer from Lazio Rome. According to the report, the Italians initially wanted to sign Asp Jensen on loan and then secure the 20-year-old’s services via a purchase option or mandatory buyout clause.
However, this model is apparently out of the question for the Munich club. The German record champions are aiming for an immediate permanent transfer and want to sign the player on a long-term basis.
Other clubs interested in Bayern talent Asp Jensen
Other interested clubs could now benefit from this situation. According to Di Marzio, both Udinese and Deportivo La Coruña are willing to meet Bayern’s demands and sign Asp Jensen directly on a permanent basis.
The player had already reached a basic agreement with Lazio on the personal terms of his contract. However, because the clubs have so far been unable to agree on the transfer structure, negotiations have currently stalled.
Bayern Munich thus remains in a strong negotiating position. Several clubs are vying for Asp Jensen, increasing the chances that the Munich-based club can push through its plan for an immediate sale of the Danish U21 national team player.
