FC Bayern appears to be on the verge of its next summer transfer. An agreement has reportedly been reached with PSV Eindhoven regarding Ismael Saibari.
FC Bayern appears to be getting closer and closer to signing its target player, Ismael Saibari. After reports that the Munich club had already reached an agreement with the Moroccan international regarding a transfer some time ago, a decisive breakthrough has now also been made in negotiations with PSV Eindhoven.
As reported by FootMercato, FC Bayern and the Dutch champions have reached a verbal agreement on a transfer for the attacking player. This would clear the biggest hurdle in the race to sign the 25-year-old.
In recent weeks, Bayern had been working intensively to sign Saibari. Vincent Kompany is considered a strong advocate of the transfer and sees the PSV pro as an important reinforcement for the offense. The pressure to conclude the negotiations as soon as possible was correspondingly high.
Recently, the deal had stalled because the two clubs initially disagreed on the transfer fee. While Eindhoven reportedly insisted on a total package of up to 60 million euros, Munich wanted to keep costs under control as much as possible. Now, a solution appears to have been found.
Medical exam already scheduled in the U.S.
Particularly noteworthy: According to the report, the next step is already being prepared. Saibari’s medical exam is scheduled for next week in the U.S.
The attacking player is currently with Morocco at the World Cup and recently made headlines with his dream goal against Brazil. That is precisely why Bayern wanted to finalize the transfer as quickly as possible. Further strong performances on the international stage might have made the negotiations even more difficult.
The contract details also appear to be settled. According to information from FootMercato, Saibari is set to sign a long-term contract with FC Bayern running through June 2031.
For the Munich club, the Moroccan would be the next key piece for the upcoming season after Nathaniel Brown. Saibari can be deployed flexibly in attacking midfield, on the wings, and behind the strikers, and his dynamism and technical ability make him an ideal fit for Kompany’s requirements.
Official confirmation from all parties is still pending. However, current developments clearly indicate that the transfer is now merely a formality. If the medical examination goes as planned, FC Bayern is likely to present its next summer signing very soon.
