According to Konur, Diomande is „very open“ to the idea of a move to Munich, which makes the move interesting from Bayern’s point of view, especially as the defender has already gained international experience despite his young age. He has made twelve appearances for Sporting in the Europa League and 18 in the Champions League
Diomande’s contract in Lisbon was only extended last January and now runs until 2030 instead of 2027. However, the exit clause, which stands at 80 million euros, is said to have remained unchanged
Many question marks despite contact
It is precisely this sum that makes the case complicated for FC Bayern. Whether the club would currently be prepared to dig so deep into its pockets for another central defender seems questionable, as the central defensive pairing for the coming season is already occupied by Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah, meaning a new signing would hardly be guaranteed a regular place
