Thomas Müller is optimistic ahead of the decisive phase of the season – and believes FC Bayern are on the right track
Confidence continues to grow at FC Bayern ahead of the crucial weeks of the season. Thomas Müller is also positive about current developments – and even believes his team are on course for the big time
At a promotional event, the 36-year-old commented on the current situation surrounding the record champions and made it clear that he believes the team is in strong shape
Looking ahead to the upcoming second leg against Real Madrid, Müller emphasized the importance of home advantage – and the good starting position
„I believe that if you have a home game in the Allianz Arena, you can progress to the semi-finals. Things have been going well around FC Bayern all season and you can sense that the team is ready to take the next step,“ said Müller
„So of course the chances are good…“

At the same time, the veteran warned against underestimating the opponents, even if Real have not always performed consistently this season: „Of course, the chances of reaching the semi-finals are good, but you have to take the last step first. That’s always the case. To be honest, Real Madrid are not quite as strong this year as we have seen them in the past. And yet they are of course equipped with excellent individual players. They can always hurt you, they can always be dangerous.“
In addition to individual quality, Müller sees team stability as Bayern’s greatest asset this season
The Bayern legend explained: „I see Bayern as very stable. You also need that stability so that a setback, a misplaced pass or even a goal conceded doesn’t throw you off track and out of your stride. That’s why I think Bayern are in a good position.“
