FC Bayern is consistently pushing ahead with its youth development strategy and has tied David Santos Daiber to the club for the long term. The 19-year-old has signed his first professional contract – and thus committed himself to the record champions until 2030
With this move, Munich are sending a clear signal for the future. Daiber, who has been training at the Bayern Campus since 2016, is regarded internally as one of the most promising midfield talents
Sporting director Christoph Freund expressed his satisfaction with the extension and highlighted the development of the Portuguese U19 international
„We’re always delighted when a player like David turns professional at FC Bayern, having joined the club as a very young talent,“ explained Freund, adding: „He’s an intelligent, ball-safe and extremely reliable midfielder.“
The regular interaction with the professionals in particular has recently given the youngster a further boost to his development. „We have a lot of confidence in him,“ emphasized the Austrian
From the campus to the pros

Daiber moved from TSV Milbertshofen to the Bayern Campus at the age of nine and has since progressed through all the youth teams, earning a place in the amateurs and first minutes with the professionals
The midfielder made his Bundesliga debut in December in a 4-0 win against 1. FC Heidenheim and was also part of the extended professional squad at the Club World Cup in the summer
Daiber has also gained experience at international level, making six appearances for the Portuguese U19 national team and previously reaching the 2024 European Championship final with the U17s
Bayern relies on the campus
The long-term contract extension is another clear signal of FC Bayern’s strategic direction: young talent should not only be trained, but also sustainably integrated into the professional game
With players such as Jamal Musiala and Aleksandar Pavlovic, there are already prominent examples of players who have successfully followed this path. Now Santos Daiber is also set to take this next step
The contract until 2030 shows that FC Bayern firmly believes in the 19-year-old’s potential – and is planning with him for the long term.
