Jamal Musiala has suffered another setback at FC Bayern. After his comeback, the attacking star has been slowed down again – and the situation is proving more complicated than hoped
Following the latest developments, sporting director Christoph Freund made it clear how difficult the current situation is. „It’s not easy for Jamal at the moment because he keeps experiencing minor setbacks,“ the 48-year-old told BILD
The reason for the renewed break lies in the ankle – more precisely in the tendon area, which was already severely affected during his serious injury. Musiala is currently only able to train to a limited extent and is mainly doing individual sessions in the gym and on the ergometer
However, this development comes as no surprise to the medical department, as tendons are considered to be particularly sensitive and take much longer to fully adapt to strain

A clear plan is therefore being followed at Säbener Straße: Musiala should not return too soon. Instead, he will be managed individually in order to avoid further setbacks. „Jamal is on a really good path. It was a difficult injury,“ emphasised Freund, underlining the fact that those responsible continue to have confidence in the healing process
The coaching team, medical department and the player himself are in constant contact to determine the best time for his return
Impatience meets caution – comeback date remains open
Musiala himself would prefer to be back on the pitch quickly – but this is precisely where Bayern bosses are deliberately intervening. The attacking player is being slowed down internally so as not to take any unnecessary risks
Particularly in view of the crucial phase of the season and the upcoming World Cup in the summer, full recovery has top priority
It is currently unclear whether Musiala will be ready to return to action after the international break, as reported by BILD, meaning that the playmaker is also in danger of missing the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on 7 April
