He was already the topic of conversation at the last home game of the professional footballers, now Thomas Müller is causing a stir again from the stands – this time at FC Bayern’s basketball temple.
In the middle of the Bayern basketball team’s EuroLeague game against Hapoel Tel Aviv, Müller briefly steals the show from the players. He demonstrates to his friends in the lodge live in front of the TV camera how a golf shot works – including a sweeping arm movement. The humorous scene is spreading rapidly on the internet: the video has already received over 1.2 million clicks.

The 36-year-old had previously sat in the stands during the Bundesliga match against Mainz and joked with Max Eberl and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. There, too, it quickly became clear how much Müller is still connected to the club. „We had just been talking in the stands about Lenny and the ominous hype. At that moment, he scored the goal. I just said, okay, now the question has been settled again,“ Müller later explained with a grin.
Müller show brings no luck to basketball players
Müller posted a selfie from the basketball arena before kick-off, with a broad grin and full of anticipation for the game. The 2014 world champion is as present as ever during his visit to Munich, relaxed, approachable – and always good for a viral moment. However, he did not bring the basketball players any luck. After parting ways with coach Gordon Herbert, Svetislav Pesic returned to the sidelines. His comeback ended with a 72:82 defeat against Hapoel Tel Aviv.

After the MLS final with the Vancouver Whitecaps, which was lost to Inter Miami, Müller returned home for the holidays. The new season with the Canadians does not start until February 3 with the first round of the Concacaf Champions Cup against CS Cartaginés from Costa Rica.
