FC Bayern have to face SC Freiburg on the 11th Bundesliga matchday. These are the probable line-ups.
FC Bayern will return from the international break on Saturday (3.30pm) against SC Freiburg – with a few question marks, but also with important returning players. Coach Vincent Kompany will have to improvise in terms of personnel, but one thing is certain: the Munich team want to record their next Bundesliga win.
Captain Manuel Neuer has not been in team training all week due to a stomach bug. Kompany explained: „We’ll have to see about Manuel Neuer, he had a bit of a cold and therefore didn’t train. Hopefully he’ll be fit today.“ If he is unavailable, Jonas Urbig would start for Bayern in a Bundesliga match for the first time.
Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Josip Stanisic are expected to start in defence, while Hiroki Ito is back in the squad for the first time after breaking his metatarsal, but will initially be on the bench.
Will Lennart Karl be in the starting eleven for FC Bayern?
Kompany can once again rely on Joshua Kimmich in midfield: „Josh is back to 100 per cent,“ said Kompany. Aleksandar Pavlovic is likely to start alongside him. Michael Olise, Lennart Karl and Luis Diaz could play in attack. There is no way around Harry Kane in the forward line.
Serge Gnabry will miss the game: „Serge came back from the national team and was still feeling something. It probably won’t be enough for Freiburg yet,“ said Kompany. The club is aiming for a return against Arsenal.
The likely Bayern starting XI at a glance: Neuer – Stanisic, Upamecano, Tah, Laimer – Kimmich, Pavlovic – Olise, Karl, Diaz – Kane

Despite a number of absentees, Kompany emphasized that Bayern will play to win: „We want to keep up the rhythm and keep scoring points.“
The likely SC Freiburg starting XI at a glance: Atubolu – Treu, Ginter, Lienhart, Makengo – M. Eggestein, Osterhage – Beste, Manzambi, Scherhant – Adamu
