FC Bayern has officially announced that the contracts of two players have been extended.
While Bayern bosses Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are currently working on the big names Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer, there are already clear results in the youth sector: the record champions signed two talented players to long-term contracts on Thursday.
As the club officially confirmed, full-back Deniz Ofli and midfielder Allen Junior Lambe have extended their contracts until June 30, 2028. Both are mainstays of coach Peter Gaydarov’s U19 team and are among the most promising players on campus.
The 17-year-old Lambe has made eleven appearances in all competitions this season, while the 18-year-old Ofli has already made 13 appearances and recently captained the Munich A-Juniors on several occasions. Internal voices praise Ofli’s consistent development in particular, as well as Lambe’s pace and pressing intelligence.
Sporting director Markus Weinzierl expressed his satisfaction with the completed extensions on the club’s website: „With Deniz and Allen, we have tied two players to us for longer, and we are happy with their development. We believe in their potential and are delighted that they want to take their next steps towards men’s soccer with us.“
FC Bayern U19s on course
FC Bayern’s U19s are currently leading preliminary round Group E of the DFB Youth League – 22 points from nine games speak volumes for the team’s strong development. Their closest rivals SC Freiburg (19 points) and SSV Ulm (17 points) have already played one game more, so there is a good chance that the Munich side will qualify for the main round, in which the top 16 teams will later play out the A-Youth champions.
Last season, FCB’s youngsters only lost in the semi-finals after extra time against Bayer Leverkusen (3-4). FC Cologne eventually won the final. Incidentally, the top scorer for Munich at the time was a player who is now the focus of attention throughout Germany: Lennart Karl.
