FC Bayern are still looking for reinforcements for their attack – and apparently have their eye on a talented Danish striker in particular: Franculino Dju from FC Midtjylland. But the Munich club is facing competition from England
According to the British Sun, Everton FC want to get serious this winter and sign the 21-year-old centre-forward. Coach David Moyes is said to be a great admirer of the attacker. Bayern scouts watch Franculino on site
The German record champions had already taken a close look at the speedy left-footer in the summer. According to the Danish portal bold.dk, an FC Bayern scout was recently at the stadium for the league game between Midtjylland and Aarhus GF – and saw Franculino score again. The attacker now has 13 goals in 13 league games – an impressive rate that has long since put him on the radar of numerous top clubs
Coach Mike Tullberg, himself once in the service of Borussia Dortmund, reacted with humor after the game to the rumors about his top striker: „No, not at all. He will stay here. I have told the club that I want to keep my players. There are no FCM players who will move to Bayern Munich – if they leave us, they will go to Dortmund,“ said Tullberg with a grin
Meanwhile, sporting director Jacob Larsen confirmed the interest of several top clubs: „There were some big clubs in the game, we have to say that. FC Bayern is one of several – that’s probably right.“
Franculino dreams of the big stage
The Guinea-Bissau-born striker, who is tied to Midtjylland until 2029, expressed his own ambition without forcing an imminent departure
„I’m very happy here, but of course I dream of playing in a bigger league one day. I want to play in LaLiga and win the Champions League.“
In addition to Bayern and Everton, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to be keeping an eye on the exceptional Danish talent. However, a January signing is considered unlikely – Midtjylland have recently shown little willingness to talk, especially when it comes to loan offers with an option to buy.
