It is apparently only a matter of time before Vincent Kompany becomes FC Bayern’s new coach. Only the agreement between his current employer Burnley FC and the German record champions is still pending. However, negotiations are apparently going well.

Vincent Kompany could soon be announced as the new coach of FC Bayern. According to information from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, an agreement between Kompany’s current club FC Burnley and the Munich management is imminent. Both clubs have yet to agree on a transfer fee for the 38-year-old, as Kompany still has a contract with the relegated English Premier League side until 2028.

According to Romano, negotiations between Bayern and Burnley are going very well and are in the final stages.

However, Belgian transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri had previously reported that Burnley feel betrayed by the manner in which Kompany’s departure from the relegated Premier League club is taking place. That is why „no gifts“ are to be given to Bayern in the negotiations over the transfer fee.

Kompany has Bayern contract

BILD recently reported that Bayern would be prepared to pay around ten million euros for the 38-year-old coach. However, according to the report, Burnley are demanding 20 million pounds – the equivalent of around 23.5 million euros.

According to media reports, Kompany has negotiated a contract with Bayern sporting director Max Eberl that is ready to be signed. This is set to run for three years until 2027.

If the Kompany deal goes through, it would end FC Bayern’s long search for a successor to Thomas Tuchel. Several coaches had previously turned the German record champions down, including Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, Oliver Glasner and Roger Schmidt. There were also further negotiations about Thomas Tuchel staying on as coach, but no agreement was reached here either.
