There are currently many indications that FC Bayern’s search for a coach will soon come to an end. According to the latest reports, Ralf Rangnick is the clear favourite to succeed Thomas Tuchel. The coach himself recently confirmed negotiations with the German record champions – and has apparently already analysed the squad.

It seems as if white smoke could soon be rising in Munich. According to consistent media reports, those responsible at FC Bayern have decided on Ralf Rangnick as the new coach.

The 65-year-old recently confirmed that he is in negotiations with Bayern. However, he also wants to make his final decision dependent on the opportunities he is given to shape the club: „Can I make a difference? Is there a chance to develop a team and be successful? That’s what drives me.“

Rangnick wants to push ahead with squad reorganisation

As reported by kicker, Rangnick had already told the Bayern bosses about his ideas regarding a potential commitment at an initial meeting around three weeks ago. This concerns both squad planning and the assessment of individual players.

According to this, he is behind the planned reorganisation and wants to play an active role in shaping it. There are currently „more than a handful“ of departures and several new arrivals. Rangnick has been intensively involved with the Bayern squad and is said to be of the opinion that a lot needs to happen in the summer to get the dethroned serial champions back on the road to success.

How much power will Rangnick have?

In the past few days, there have been increasing reports that Rangnick is demanding a say in transfers. In his previous positions, the Austrian national coach often had a major influence on the sporting direction of the entire club.

According to SZ information, the sporting management around Max Eberl is said to be quite prepared to involve Rangnick in squad planning. According to the report, Rangnick in turn has the impression that FC Bayern has realised that some changes are needed to bring the team back to the desired level.

Overall, Eberl, Freund and Rangnick are said to be extremely positive about a potential collaboration. Together with campus manager Jochen Sauer, they see the opportunity to build sustainable structures. They also value the relationship of trust that exists between them.
