In its search for promising talent, FC Bayern is on the lookout for interesting players throughout Europe. As has now become known, the Munich club were also interested in Real jewel Arda Güler in the summer of 2013. According to the latest reports, Munich still have the 19-year-old on their radar.
In the summer of 2023, top Turkish talent Arda Güler moved from Fenerbahce Istanbul to Real Madrid for just under 20 million euros. The attacking midfielder was being chased by numerous top European clubs at the time.
According to the Turkish daily newspaper Habertürk, FC Bayern was also interested in Güler. According to the paper, Munich were prepared to outbid Real financially in the bidding for the youngster. A transfer fee of just under 40 million euros was rumoured. Given Güler’s current market value of 15 million euros, this would have been an impressive transfer fee for a teenager.
Güler is still an issue at Bayern
Even though FCB lost out in the transfer poker for the attacking player, they still seem to be interested in the 19-year-old. According to the Spanish portal Defensa Central, the club are considering making another attempt next summer.
Güler is contractually bound to the Whites until 2029. Due to a number of injuries this season, Güler has only played seven games (98 minutes, 1 goal) for Real so far this season.
The six-time Turkish international is certainly one of the most interesting young players in Europe. Nevertheless, a move to FC Bayern seems very unlikely. The record champions are already well-staffed in attacking midfield with DFB star Jamal Musiala. Güler himself also has no intention of leaving Madrid after just one season and feels very much at home in the Spanish capital, as Habertürk reports.
