Effenberg advises Führich not to switch to Bayern: „There are enough warning examples“
FC Bayern are currently being heavily linked with the signing of DFB shooting star Chris Führich. According to reports, the 26-year-old is high on Munich’s wish list for the summer. The winger has warned Stefan Effenberg against a move to the German record champions.
Führich has attracted the interest of numerous top clubs with his strong performances. Dortmund, Leverkusen and FC Bayern are three potential suitors in the Bundesliga alone.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past three years and has made the leap from the second division to the German national team (three international caps).
As BILD recently revealed, Führich is a serious transfer candidate for the German record champions. Both Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are convinced by the attacking player. The fact that the DFB international is available for 20-23 million euros in the summer thanks to a release clause is what makes the winger so attractive.
„He should continue on his path together with VfB“
While Bayern bosses are confident that Führich will make his breakthrough in Munich, TV pundit Stefan Effenberg is much more sceptical. He warns the Stuttgart professional against leaving VfB too quickly: „For his own development, however, I would strongly advise him to continue his journey at VfB for a while longer. He has earned and deserves the trust he feels in Stuttgart. That gives him a certain security. He shouldn’t just give that up,“ he told t-online.
According to Effenberg, there is a very real danger that Führich will not be able to continue his development at a top club like FC Bayern: „There are enough warning examples of people who have driven their careers into the wall with the wrong decisions because they were badly advised.“
