Harry Kane announces that he will soon extend his contract with FC Bayern. Ahead of the match against Atlético, the striker explains that only the final details remain to be worked out.
According to Kane himself, he is on the verge of extending his contract with FC Bayern. At the press conference ahead of the Champions League away game at Atlético Madrid, the Englishman made it clear that he expects the negotiations to be finalized shortly.
“It’s a matter of days, not weeks. We had very good discussions over the weekend and again today. The extension is imminent. There are just a few details left to work out,” he said.
Kane has now specifically commented on the expected timeline himself. While media reports had recently been the main indication of an impending agreement, the striker is now personally confirming how far the negotiations have progressed. According to his statements, however, the new contract has not yet been signed.
For the Munich club, this signals the imminent conclusion of an important contract. Kane’s current contract runs through the summer of 2027. With an extension, the record champions would secure their star striker beyond that timeframe.
Kane’s new contract is expected to run through 2029
According to information from Sky, a fundamental breakthrough in the talks had already occurred in early October. According to that report, a new contract running through 2029 is planned. Kane did not specify the exact term in his latest statement.
Other reports had also recently described a convergence of positions. According to information from BILD, an agreement on the contract duration had been reached in mid-October. Details were reportedly still pending, including those regarding image and marketing rights. Kane did not specify at the press conference which details still need to be clarified.

});
})();
The British Times subsequently reported on a verbal agreement extending through the summer of 2029. According to the report, the 33-year-old is set to continue earning just under 25 million euros per year. Official confirmation of these terms is pending.
Kane’s latest statements now lend additional weight to previous reports. In particular, his mention of further productive discussions over the weekend and on Monday indicates that both sides have recently continued working toward a deal.
Ahead of the match in Madrid, the striker’s long-term future is once again taking center stage. If the remaining details are clarified as Kane expects, Bayern could gain planning certainty regarding one of its key players as early as this week.
