Plans for the 2027–28 season are taking shape. The German Football Association (DFB) has announced the key dates for the upcoming season. Another important date for FC Bayern has been set for some time now: The Champions League Final will take place on May 27, 2028, at the club’s home stadium, the Allianz Arena.
The Executive Committee of the German Football Association (DFB) has approved the men’s preliminary schedule for the 2027–2028 season. It includes several dates that are also of interest to FC Bayern.
The first competitive matches of the 2027–28 season are scheduled for mid-August 2027. The first round of the DFB Cup will be played from August 13 to 16. Just one day after the start of the cup season, another highlight is on the schedule: the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup. On August 14, the first title of the new season will be awarded.
The 2027–28 Bundesliga season begins on August 20, 2027. Numerous matchdays are scheduled leading up to the winter break, which is set for December 19, 2027, through January 7, 2028. The second half of the season will then begin in the new year.
The final Bundesliga matchday is scheduled for May 13, 2028. That’s when Matchday 34 will be played, and the championship race will be decided.
„Finale dahoam 2.0“?
One week after the Bundesliga finale, on May 20, 2028, the DFB Cup final will take place at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. The international highlight of the season will follow on May 27: the Champions League final will be held at the Allianz Arena.
For FC Bayern, a final in their own stadium would be a special event. After losing the “Finale dahoam” in 2012, the Munich team would thus have another chance to win Europe’s most prestigious club title in front of their home crowd. However, there is still a long way to go until then. For now, the focus is on the on-field outcomes of the current season.
