Franck Ribéry continues to advance his coaching career. The former Bayern star has successfully completed his training for the UEFA Pro License in Italy. This brings the Frenchman one step closer to entering the coaching profession.
Ribéry completed his training in Italy and has now submitted his thesis. It is titled “The Soccer I Want to See—Between Tradition and Innovation, in Search of Speed.”
The former forward had already gained some initial coaching experience after retiring as a player. However, the completion of his training for the UEFA Pro License is an important milestone on the path to his own career as a head coach.
Ribéry spent a large part of his career with FC Bayern and became a club icon in Munich. From 2007 to 2019, the Frenchman played for the German record champions and won numerous titles. Among his greatest achievements are nine German championships, six DFB Cup victories, and the 2013 Champions League title.
After leaving Munich, Ribéry continued his career in Italy. He first played for AC Florence, then moved to US Salernitana, where he retired from active play in 2022. Even after retiring, he remained connected to Italian soccer.
Will Ribéry soon make his mark as a coach?
Having successfully completed his Pro License training, Ribéry now meets the requirements to work as a head coach in the future. However, it remains to be seen where his next move might take him.
Thanks to his many years of experience in Germany and Italy, the 43-year-old has broad insight into different soccer cultures. His thesis also suggests that Ribéry has delved deeply into the development of modern soccer.

Above all, the topic of speed plays a central role in this. During his playing career, this very ability was one of the winger’s greatest strengths. Together with Arjen Robben, Ribéry formed one of Europe’s most feared wing duos at FC Bayern for years.
Now, the Frenchman could pass on this experience from the sidelines. Whether his first coaching gig will be in Italy or abroad remains to be seen. One thing is certain, however: Ribéry’s path to a career in coaching is taking on increasingly concrete form.
