Over the weekend, FC Bayern fans at the Allianz Arena held their breath when Jamal Musiala suddenly collapsed during the game. A cautious all-clear was given immediately after the match against RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup (3-1).
In the sweltering heat, the offensive player—who had scored the goal to make it 3–1 himself—complained of circulatory problems. He was feeling dizzy, and the heat was getting to him.
An emergency doctor immediately rushed onto the field to rule out anything more serious. After brief treatment, the medic gave the thumbs-up. Musiala was able to get up on his own and leave the field, though he was visibly dazed.
FC Bayern: Musiala Back in Training
After the game, Max Eberl assured everyone that Musiala was doing quite well overall, without providing any details. Initial media reports also pointed to heat exhaustion with circulatory problems, but an examination was conducted nonetheless.
Following this examination, it was expected that he would take a break from training for several days. Today, Monday, there was some encouraging news: as reported by the Merkur , Musiala has already returned to the training field behind closed doors.
The FC Bayern star forward completed a 30-minute individual training session. However, the national team player will still sit out tomorrow’s friendly against 1. FC Heidenheim. The team is training in public today at FC Bayern’s Allianz Team Day on campus. The team presentation will also take place here.
For Musiala, the priority now is to get back into the swing of things quickly, but also to avoid taking too many risks following his collapse against Leipzig. A appearance this weekend in the Super Cup against BVB, however, seems well within the realm of possibility for the player.
