An important meeting of the supervisory board is scheduled for late August at FC Bayern. The future of Max Eberl will also be discussed at that meeting. The sporting director still faces an uncertain future.
However, Uli Hoeneß recently gave Eberl hope that his contract could be extended beyond 2027. The Bayern chairman expressed satisfaction that Eberl had wrapped up the team’s signings fairly quickly this summer.
Eberl himself acknowledged the praise but refrained from giving an overly enthusiastic response. Nevertheless, he succeeded in signing two top-tier reinforcements before the transfer market really heated up.
Hainer Satisfied with Eberl
What’s left on the agenda now are player sales. These are proving somewhat more difficult, but Eberl—who has already sold players like Alexander Nübel and Noel Aseko—is working hard on it.
Recently, there have been reports that a decision regarding Eberl could even be delayed, and that the meeting at the end of August will initially focus only on the current status. However, especially in light of the latest statements, there is now a chance that a decision will be made sooner after all—and a positive one at that.
Herbert Hainer, Bayern’s president, hinted at this on the sidelines of the women’s friendly against Paris FC (2–0) at Sportpark Unterhaching. Speaking to the Abendzeitung about the future of Eberl and Dreesen, he said: “We are very satisfied with the work of the executive board. Hopefully, that will also be reflected in the decisions.”
The question is whether there is currently any significant opposition at all from the supervisory board regarding Eberl and Dreesen. Given the recent decisions and, above all, the calm that currently prevails around the club, there have certainly been some arguments in their favor.
