The move is now official: Noel Aseko is leaving FC Bayern to join Eintracht Frankfurt. The German record champions confirmed the transfer on Wednesday at the same time as the Frankfurt-based club.
FC Bayern has officially announced its next departure this summer transfer window. Youth player Noel Aseko is making a permanent move to Eintracht Frankfurt. After the clubs had already reached a full agreement, both clubs have now confirmed the transfer.
The 20-year-old midfielder had been under contract with FC Bayern since 2022 and most recently gained valuable playing time on loan at Hannover 96. There, the U-21 national team player developed into a regular starter and proved himself ready for the next step in his career in the Bundesliga.
Sporting Director Max Eberl bid Aseko farewell with words of praise: “Noel has continuously developed at our FC Bayern Campus and during his time at Hannover 96, and now wants to take the next step in Frankfurt by playing regularly in the Bundesliga. Examples like this clearly demonstrate how young talents make the leap into professional soccer through FC Bayern. We wish Noel all the best for his future.”
Aseko is looking to take the next step in his development
Aseko transferred from Hertha BSC to the FC Bayern Campus in the summer of 2022 and quickly worked his way up through the U19s to Munich’s reserve team. The midfielder played a total of 30 competitive matches for Bayern’s reserves, scoring two goals.
The 20-year-old then took a decisive step forward in his development during his one-and-a-half-year loan to Hannover 96. He appeared in 34 competitive matches for the second-division club and contributed three goals. At the same time, Aseko also established himself on the German U-21 national team, for which he has made five appearances so far.
With his move to Frankfurt, the midfielder now has the chance to prove himself in the Bundesliga on a permanent basis. According to consistent media reports, twelve million euros will be paid to FC Bayern. The Munich club is said not to have secured a buyback option in the deal.
For the German record champions, this marks yet another roster shake-up this summer. While Aseko is leaving the club, the focus at Säbener Straße is now said to be on the remaining players and further preparations for the new season.
