Felix Nmecha is one of the big winners of the ongoing World Cup. Now, FC Bayern is said to have taken concrete steps to express its interest in the Dortmund midfielder.
Felix Nmecha is increasingly drawing the attention of Europe’s top clubs at the World Cup. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is currently impressing in the German national team’s jersey, which appears to have further piqued Bayern Munich’s interest.
As reported by Sport BILD, Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, recently reached out to the player’s camp. According to the report, the 52-year-old wanted to make it clear that, from the perspective of the German record champions, Nmecha is a very interesting player.
Although a concrete transfer this summer is considered rather unlikely at this point, the Dortmund player now appears to have landed on the Munich club’s radar.
In addition to FC Bayern, the report states that Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are also said to be keeping an eye on Nmecha.
Nmecha is becoming increasingly valuable to BVB
In Dortmund, the 25-year-old has long since established himself as one of the team’s most important players. Following his contract extension through 2030, Nmecha is expected to play a key role on the team alongside Jobe Bellingham in the future.
That is precisely why BVB is likely keeping a close eye on the growing interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
Interesting fact: According to Sport BILD, Nmecha’s contract includes a buyout clause, though it doesn’t take effect until the summer of 2027. At that point, the midfielder will be able to leave for around 80 million euros. A year later, the stipulated amount would drop to about 70 million euros.
This summer, however, the price is open to negotiation.
Dortmund’s management actually does not want to sell their star player. However, if an offer significantly exceeds the 100-million-euro mark, the club would, according to the report, at least have to consider a possible sale.
Bayern is closely monitoring the situation
Following Leon Goretzka’s impending departure, FC Bayern might be looking for additional options in central midfield anyway. With his dynamism, physicality, and versatility, Nmecha would generally fit that profile.
The player himself is reportedly not ruling out a move to a top-tier club outright. According to Sport BILD, Nmecha would at least give it some thought if a suitable offer were to come along.
His current top form is no coincidence. After suffering a collateral ligament injury, the national team player completed a private training camp in Portugal immediately before the World Cup, where he worked intensively on his fitness.
The effort has paid off so far. Nmecha is in strong form at the World Cup—and is apparently generating growing interest at FC Bayern as a result.
